The OPAL pond health score provides an instant indication of how healthy your lake or pond is.
Higher health scores (green dots) suggest good water quality and indicate the presence of invertebrates such as caddisfly, damselfly and dragonfly larvae. Absence of these species suggests poorer water quality and results in a lower score (red dots). To see the full invertebrate scoring chart refer to the water survey workbook (PDF, 1MB).
