The International Year of Biodiversity at Fleet Pond

Saturday 22 May, Fleet Pond, Hampshire

To celebrate the International Year of Biodiversity, OPAL organised some water-themed activities at Fleet Pond.

Neil Rose and Simon Turner from the OPAL water team were on hand to introduce the local community to the water survey and a spot of pond dipping. The weather was fabulous and encouraged a healthy turnout of people and wildlife. One lucky dipper even found some water scorpions.

OPAL would like to thank the Fleet Pond Society for their fantastic support; and Kevin Whibley, our official photographer (www.capturedmoment.com). Special thanks to everyone who took part for making the day a tremendous success.
