Heathland is one of Britain’s most threatened habitats. It supports a diverse range of wildlife, from the endangered Nightjar, to the UK’s only venomous snake, the Adder.

The Common Lizard can be found in heathlandOur OPAL East Midlands team have created a simple photographic guide to heathland wildlife. It’s free to download and covers birds, reptiles, plants and invertebrates.
