The University is the UK's leading business-facing university and an exemplar in the sector. It is innovative and enterprising and challenges individuals and organisations to excel.
It is one of the region's largest employers with over 2,700 staff and a turnover of more than £235 million. With a student community of over 24,500, the University has a global network of over 165,000 alumni.
Herts and OPAL
OPAL's East of England team was based at the University of Hertfordshire. It worked in association with a wide range of regional partners to engage local communities in discovering nature and taking part in OPAL activities.
The team also carried out local research projects on orchard ecology and developed guides to lichens and mosses that grow in
orchards in the region.
