Please note that due to limited resources, we are unable to answer all messages. Please check whether the information below answers your question.
Survey packs
Due to current resource limitations, we may be unable to send printed survey packs or other resources (e.g. pH strips) by post. However, all OPAL surveys are available to download as pdfs from the OPAL website.
You are free to use OPAL survey packs for professional non-commercial purposes, but please let us know how you are using them. Don’t forget to join OPAL to be the first to hear about new resources and training opportunities. If you would like to adapt OPAL resources, please contact us first (opal@imperial.ac.uk).
Identification and other nature advice
Unfortunately we no longer have the capacity to answer questions on wildlife identification. We recommend iSpot, - a friendly and free community helping to identify wildlife and share nature - and the Field Studies Council for species identification skills.
For questions relating to species, please try relevant monitoring schemes e.g. Butterfly Conservation, Buglife or Bumblebee Conservation Trust.
For questions on developing your school grounds, try Learning through Landscapes.
OPAL Community Scientists
OPAL is currently operating at reduced capacity and our Community Scientists are unavailable to run events this year. Please contact us again in future.
Best wishes,
The OPAL Team
